So, why is Earth Day only one day a year like Saint Patrick’s Day is? Granted we are speaking about two meanings of the word green. Going Green as in using green promotional products or going green by advertising with green colored promotional items. The promotional products do not have to be the color green, but, hey, why not!?

However, if you do decide to use green/environment friendly promotional products, they can come in any color you want. Taking advantage of the fact that the two dates, Saint Patrick’s Day and Earth Day, are close to each other on the calendar, why not use it to promote green awareness on Saint Patrick’s Day and beyond?

The original color related to Saint Patrick used to be blue. Green is a color that became associated with both Ireland and Saint Patrick because of the emerald isle, the greenness of the landscape and the shamrock Saint Patrick used to explain the trinity, which became a symbol of Irish Catholic Nationalism. The tradition of wearing green came from the picking of shamrocks and putting them in your lapel. With the United Irish uprising in 1798, the population connected the National Saint to the wearing of green and made it political. People then started making uniforms and, to this day, the reason we wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day in NYC is to show our ties to the homeland of Ireland.

Great promotional products must also follow some criteria, such as safety, quality, social compliance and environment protection.

To regulate and make sure promotional products suppliers care about all these issues, the Quality Certification Alliance (QCA) was founded as an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit accrediting organization for industry suppliers. QCA certification helps protect your brand and reputation by offering compliance with the highest product standards in the market. That’s why Gordon Sinclair Gordon Sinclair is proudly QCA certified and one of the founding members of the alliance.

The QCA certification process is a comprehensive validation that Gordon Sinclair has processes in place intended to detect and deter any non-compliant product from entering into the marketplace. QCA Accreditation also verifies compliance with local and national laws, as well as the laws of the country that may be importing the item for consumption. To this end, QCA seeks to harmonize the ever-increasing array of compliance tools, identifying the most rigorous standards, measure to those standards and continuously revise and update the measures and methodology to reflect evolving concerns.

Promotional Products can get you noticed! They are also a great way to say thanks to existing clients, employees and partners. People have used Promotional Items for years with great success. What changes is what we know about the ones we want to present, so we can get a better idea of what items to use and how to use them the right way to get well noticed.

Another suggestion would be take a good look on 2010 Holidays Promotional Calendar and start to create a Product Marketing Strategy around it. Consider your business target market, your budget and ask yourself what kind of occasions would be ideal to give away some products. What kind of product would work best for your brand or company? How do you intend to delivery those products?

The last but not least important advice is to become part of your community, get to know about and join events under our topic our around your neighborhood.

We hear this so much by people that times are rough so they have cut down on marketing. The reason this happens is that some of these marketing messages are braking down.

For years marketing has worked with little effort because the competition use to be low. Nowadays we are facing a world of changes, so the way we market should change as well. In down times, a great way to not have to cut your marketing budget is to find unique and different ways to make your brand get noticed.

Advertising on products, for example, is going to make your brand and its image last much longer on peoples memories, as a gift or memorabilia

When planing your marketing budget and strategy try to think more likely to be left hanging around the house or car. Maybe something like an iPhone or iPod case, things people would carry with them or are more likely to be seen.

Eatable products like candy or coffee may be forgotten easier when an item can quickly be deposed off. Don’t use these types of promotional products in times of financial hardship. But don’t forget that things will get better and you still need to stay in front. Think about the others who stop putting money into marketing and how much further you can be.

Another tip is to find new and trendy ways to promote your business, like green products or take actions that shows you care about the world, a community or an idea. There is always something that make us feel good and fair-field!

Never cut marketing, even in down time. It’s like not putting oil in your car when you drive, because you are out of money.

Green promotional product suggestion: mouse, pen and USB port set made of bamboo
